Dark Days
The documentary "Dark Days" was pretty eye-opening. I never knew people could live under the subway. They make shelter for themselves, they cook, they entertain, they even have pets. These people created their own community away from the streets. But the conditions under the subway are disgusting so you must wonder how bad their health is. I saw that none of the homeless people wanted to go to shelters because they thought it was worse than where they were living. This is a serious wake-up call for officials. I think shelters need more supervision, or shelters should resemble a small housing community rather than just a shelter. As for the issues we discussed, I do still think that people are given many opportunities to improve themselves, but sometimes these options are not desirable, or, sometimes people do not wish to take the opportunities.

I agree. I found it so surprising how they had like their own little world down there. I mean like...even pets. haha
It was so strange to me how they were hesitant at first to go to the shelters at first. That's really saying something about our society, in my opinion.
while i was reading your blog i found very interesting the facts that you pointed out because in reality they did have a world down in the subway but i agree with the fact that if they did not want to go to the shelters is because the conditions were not the best ones and as a result of it , something needed to be done and like you said supervision . So i strongly agree with your point of view towards the opportunities being offered because it is very true the fact
that sometimes the opportunities being offered are not exactly the best ones .
